On my last post I was on a rant about the congress's inability to pass the background check for guns. What I didn't note is that I could care less about background checks.
Background checks by the way, are only good for providing someone a job, shuffling computer data. Background checks are like the WPA (Works Progress Administration during the Roosevelt Era for those that have forgotten that little piece of history). It is because this wonderful economic system we have, cannot provide jobs for those that need or want them (and at a decent wage) that I think background checks is as good as could be expected. But I digress.
What my point is, that I failed to make, is that we should all have guns. This, I know, is a radical departure for those that know me as a bleeding heart liberal, but it is not terror or lawlessness that concerns me. It is, we are at that point when the government no longer represents the will of the people. I know this sounds like those on the right that are in continual fear of the government, but those people are now the government and have, in the name of Anti-terrorism taken away any hope of resolution of grievances.
It has long been the desire of the right to control not govern. Their use of the degradation of language to further their goals (as pointed out by George Orwell) should be blatantly obvious. As an obvious tell, the language of anti-terrorism has resulted in, for instance, local police forces arrayed in military garb that would make most country's military feel inadequate.
If you need evidence of this militarization of civil life Just look at the videos from the news in Boston as they chase a some idiot who couldn't find his ass with both hands and road map. As an example of how this power, now in local hands, will be misused just look at Boston. There, a 19 yr old kid has shut down the whole city. The one claim to fame of that this boy had, is that he could kill and maim with his Mom's pressure cooker, that was used to make Djepelg (Chechnya Potato dish).*
It is with the above in mind, again, that I don't think the Government should be screwing around with the Second Amendment. I need to protect my self from that government so I can make my Appointment in Samara with a peaceful mind
*At the same time, please note that in Texas, there was a fertilizer plant that exploded resulting in some 60 people missing with 5 dead. (but that was a failure of commerce not terror) You don't see a mass army surrounding the remains of that plant, all you see is Barny Fife and his one bullet.
