Time to catch up:
It seems that the new year may not be good one for me. About two weeks ago I ended up in the hospital getting a heart pace maker The pacemaker of choice, even though it did not have a USB port, was the Dick Cheney Model. Now I have this prurient interest in oil spills and a burning need to attack Iran. Medication seems to moderate that somewhat so that Carol does not have to restrain me. (Although I was beginning to like that restraint thing but that may have been the Cheney talking) Anyway I just got home for a day but came down with a fever of 103 so back to hospital I went. Turns out that I got the flu but they (the medical folks) having read their liability policy decided that I should stay for a couple of days and make sure that the Cheney was not being harmed by the flu. I am not sure that it was me they were worried about.
I watched President Obama's Inaugural speech. I do so love his poetry, his eloquence, his world view. But unlike many of my peers that have great respect for the man, I do have many reservations about the politics that are actually practiced. He and his Attorney General still have not prosecuted anybody of note on Wall street. The banks have not been touched and are still the subversives that will destroy this country for a profit. Nobody seems to understand that America's brand of Capitalism is killing us. As the President spoke I could only think of the torture that was committed in our name that brought down the reputation of my country. So as the poetry was there for the enjoyment of me and others, the dark side of our political life cast a very long shadow.
And now for something completely different. A concept in Arms Control
