Comment by Paul Krugman in the NY Times
"So we’re paralyzed in the face of mass unemployment and out-of-control health care costs. Don’t blame Mr. Obama. There’s only so much one man can do, even if he sits in the White House. Blame our political culture instead, a culture that rewards hypocrisy and irresponsibility rather than serious efforts to solve America’s problems. And blame the filibuster, under which 41 senators can make the country ungovernable, if they choose — and they have so chosen."
Alas it is not my problem. I am heading to that great melting Ice Flow to be eaten by Polar Bears;

Couldn't Resist
Comment by Jay Leno
"A Republican was elected to the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts, filling a seat once held by Ted Kennedy. So, this could tip the delicate balance of power in the U.S. Senate from the completely incompetent back to the morally corrupt."
I am so glad that we finally have balance it the Senate. I think it was Twain that said: "... that the only indigenous criminal class in the U.S. is the congress"
Ain't we got fun

Late Night Thoughts that Keep me Awake
About midnight now and doing some reading. Finished a book I got for Christmas. It is called"L.A. Noir". It is about the history of Los Angeles and its police department. Brought back memories of childhood.
I did come across an article my Matt Taibi in Rolling Stone about the Financial Advisor's and Appointees of the Obama Administration. The one quote that got to me was the following:
"There's no other way to say it: Barack Obama, a once-in-a-generation political talent whose graceful conquest of America's racial dragons en route to the White House inspired the entire world, has for some reason allowed his presidency to be hijacked by sniveling, low-rent shitheads. Instead of reining in Wall Street, Obama has allowed himself to be seduced by it ....."
In keeping with my prior missive I have to agree with him. I will not Vote again in my life because I am tired of being lied to. I have avoided the easy shelter of cynicism and continued to believe that we are better than what we apparently are. But I am now tired and watching the circus we call democracy makes me more so.
Having left my part of my sole behind I will now indulge whats left of it to art. Accordingly below are some new stuff. Hope you like it.
